We started the company in a garage seven years ago and have grown our team, working across the Gallatin Valley on everything from one-room mini-split installs to full new construction projects.

What Makes Summit Air Different
Most Bozeman HVAC companies send salespeople to estimate jobs. We don't. Every estimate at Summit is handled by one of our expert HVAC technicians — the same person who'll do the install, the repair, or the maintenance visit. That means you get honest answers from someone who can actually assess your system, answer technical questions, and stand behind the work afterward.
We also believe in fixing things before replacing them. A lot of companies push replacement because new equipment pays better than a repair. We see it the other way around: if a repair will keep your system running, we'll say so. Replacement is a last resort, not a first recommendation.
That approach extends to how we handle pricing. We provide written estimates before any work begins, and we set expectations up front about what's needed and what isn't. Honest pricing, creative solutions, and timely service — those are the principles we built the company on, and they're how we work today.

Meet the Summit Air Team

Eli Hogan
Co-Owner
Eli Hogan resided in Minnesota until he was drawn to southwest Montana in 2018. It was the supreme mountain ranges, unbeatable bow and rifle hunting, and a lower population which drew him here. In Minnesota, Eli held a successful career in construction, and found he had a knack for trade work. This led him to attend trade school in Arizona where he studied mechanics and refrigeration. Due to the fundamental and technological similarities between refrigeration and HVAC systems, Eli found his calling in the HVAC industry which eventually led him to found Summit Air Heating & Cooling. Eli wished to build an HVAC business atop a foundation of integrous principles. This is exactly what he succeeded in doing. Today, Summit Air Heating & Cooling is a company which places quality work and customer education first.
When not hard at work, Eli enjoys doing just about anything outdoors. He enjoys archery and hiking, and revels in hunting throughout the northern Montana region.

Jordan Shrader
Co-Owner
Originally from Loveland, Colorado, Jordan moved to southwest Montana when his parents moved to the area for work in Big Sky. Jordan now lives north of Big Sky in the Bozeman area with his wife and three children, and describes himself as a “typical Montanan” who loves to take advantage of the many seasonal, outdoor activities the Treasure State has to offer. Jordan was initially drawn to the HVAC industry after realizing his innate hands-on nature. For a time, Jordan worked in the oil fields in North Dakota, and, after leaving there, he chose to venture into HVAC and has worked in this field ever since. In his free time outside of work, Jordan is a skilled archer who loves to apply this skill in bow-hunting. In addition, Jordan enjoys hiking and fishing (but not fly-fishing!), as well as spending time with his family.

Merissa Shrader
Administrative Office Manager
Merissa moved from Colorado to Montana in 2010, and now lives in the Bozeman area with her husband and three children. She is an individual who wears many hats being that she is a mother of three, a nanny to two children, and manages all of Summit Air Heating & Cooling’s back-office work such as invoicing and general financials. Talk about a successful multi-tasker! However, Merissa is well-versed in the practice of running a busy life as, for a long time, she maintained a career as a Medical Assistant. When Merissa does happen upon a bit of free time within her industrious schedule, she loves summer outdoor activities with her family. Merissa also greatly enjoys hiking in the summer time, and adores any time she gets to spend with her family the most of all.
